SAP Integration Suite

Automation through integration and expansion with the SAP Integration Suite - the basis of your digitalization strategy

The SAP Integration Suite is an Integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) that allows you to quickly build and manage integrations of on-premise and cloud-based processes, services, applications, events and data.

The SAP Integration Suite is made available on your Business Technology Platform (formerly: SAP Cloud Platform) and can quickly automate business processes using preconfigured integrations and integrations you create yourself.

We help you to automate and optimize your business processes. You can rely on our expertise in the areas of process automation and our extensive knowledge in the integration of processes, services, applications, events and data.

Components of the SAP Integration Suite

SAP Cloud Integration (CPI)

SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) is the cloud-based middleware solution from SAP. SAP Cloud Integration helps you to connect cloud and on-premise applications with other SAP and non-SAP cloud and on-premise applications. SCI can process messages in real time, spanning different companies, organizational units or departments within a company.

The SAP Integration Suite combines the integration functions Process Integration, API Management, Integration Advisor and Open Connectors into a holistic and simplified toolkit for enterprise integration. In order to provide comprehensive middleware, these services are not available separately, but only as part of the Integration Suite service plan.

Surroundings

The CPI is executed in the Neo and Cloud Foundry (CF) environments. Integration scenarios that were designed in the Neo environment are also compatible in the CF environment with certain restrictions.

Features

  • Integrate processes and data in application-to-application (A2A) and business-to-business (B2B) scenarios.
  • Integrate various applications and data sources from SAP and non-SAP, on-premise and from the cloud. SAP Cloud Integration comes with a range of ready-made adapters to connect a wide variety of endpoints.
  • Benefit from ready-made integration content to quickly turn integration projects into productive scenarios. You can expand and customize the predefined integration flows according to your own requirements.
  • Use the adapter SDK to create your own custom adapters for additional connectivity requirements.
  • Access to public APIs
  • Use our core integration and security functions for the secure and reliable processing of messages. Configure the message exchange within an integration scenario so that the data involved is protected in accordance with the latest security standards.
  • Orchestrate business processes and integrate data in both synchronous and asynchronous scenarios.
  • Use SAP Cloud Integration and SAP's on-premise integration platform, SAP Process Orchestration, fully integrated.

Integration scenarios

The integration of processes, services, applications, events, and data takes place both within a company and across organizational boundaries, as well as architecturally between system environments—whether on-premise or in the cloud.

Cloud applications are increasingly being integrated into on-premise system landscapes. Moreover, the growing use of different cloud solutions makes not only on-premise-to-cloud integration necessary, but also cloud-to-cloud integration.

SAP provides best-practice scenarios and standard content—including extensive documentation—to help implement diverse integration scenarios efficiently and quickly.

Examples of integration scenarios include:

  • Integration of SAP and non-SAP software solutions such as Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint, Hubspot, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
  • Managing and publishing APIs

SAP API Management

SAP API Management, as part of the SAP Integration Suite, enables the publishing and monitoring of APIs to support a secure and scalable system environment. In many system landscapes, hundreds of APIs are consumed—for example, in the SAP Business Suite and SAP S/4HANA. Today, each application provides numerous APIs to address the following requirements:

  • Connecting business processes across the entire system landscape

  • Integrating with external systems

  • Developing custom extensions or customer-specific applications

Each SAP Fiori app, for example, uses one or more OData APIs.

You can view the current APIs here: https://api.sap.com/

SAP Open Connectors

SAP Open Connectors are part of the SAP Integration Suite and enable easy integration of popular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products. SAP Open Connectors can be used either as a standalone solution or directly within SAP Cloud Integration (SAP CPI). SAP offers more than 100 connectors for the most widely used cloud applications.

Examples of available Open Connectors include:

  • Box
  • DocuSign
  • Entra ID (Azure)
  • Facebook
  • HubSpot
  • Google G Suite
  • Jira
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Salesforce
  • ServiceNow
  • SharePoint
