Three technologies are primarily used in SAP: SAPscript, Smart Forms and Adobe Forms.
While SAPscript is mainly used in older systems, Smart Forms offer greater flexibility.
Adobe Forms (or SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe) is the modern solution for S/4HANA, cloud and output management systems.
Switching is particularly worthwhile for S/4HANA migrations or if you want to modernize your forms.
Adobe Forms offers better layout options, multilingual support, PDF integration and interactive features that traditional technologies do not cover.
SAP forms can be used to create almost any business-related document, such as invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, credit notes, certificates, quotations, or labels. Interactive PDF forms for customers and suppliers are also possible.
Forms are automatically generated and sent via SAP Output Control (NACE, BRF+ or S/4 Output Management) – by email, print, fax or EDI.
They can also be connected to SAP ArchiveLink, DVS or external DMS systems for audit-proof archiving of documents.
